Welcome to Plymouth Babe Ruth

Dear Friends and Families of Plymouth Babe Ruth

I’m humbled and honored to continue serving as Plymouth Babe Ruth President. I have many fond memories over the past 8 years involved in our Plymouth Babe Ruth program, and look forward too many more.

While we had our share of fits and starts in 2019, there were no illusions of what the goals were and where we want to take the program. There were many proud moments, and moments that we will improve on in 2020. In many ways 2019 was new ground to cover for all of us who volunteered, and those of us that represent the 2020 Board of Directors look forward to getting to work building on the foundation for a successful 2020!

League Structure

We had three divisions in Babe Ruth & in 2019: Mayflower (15 & 16’s) Pilgrim (14 & 15’s) & Standish (13’s). We will determine the league structure based on player registration.

Whatever the league structure is, the team roster size will be at minimum a 12 player rosters.

A further note on our Standish Division (13-year-old prep).  The essence of our Standish Division, or “Prep Division” is just that, to Prepare all our 13-year old’s & have them play together regardless of skill level.  If your son is 13 years of age as of May 1, our Standish Division is the perfect baseball destination for your child transitioning to the Big diamond.  Our pledge to you, is that we will collectively do our utmost to provide your child every opportunity to learn, compete, develop relationships & have fun!  With the purpose & promise of creating a thriving and sustainable league for years to come.  Its purpose to serve as landing spot for all graduating 12-year old’s, it will become the lynch pin and staple of our program serving all of Plymouth.

There’s so much to get excited about in the months ahead & we are looking forward to getting started to make 2020 the best experience possible for everyone in the program

As the Babe Ruth mission statement indicates, “The Babe Ruth Baseball/Softball program, using regulation competitive baseball and softball rules, teaches skills, mental and physical development, a respect for the rules of the game, and basic ideals of sportsmanship and fair play. In all aspects, Babe Ruth League, Inc. is committed to providing our participants the very best educational, sports experience possible. It is our fundamental belief that every child with a desire to play baseball or softball be afforded that opportunity.”

We will do our absolute best to make sure we instill this and our other core objectives in every decision we make on behalf of every child in the program.

I welcome all the returning families from Plymouth & Carver and look forward to meeting the new friends and families, as well.

Mark Guay,
