Welcome to Plymouth Babe Ruth

Hello Plymouth Babe Ruth Membership!

Registration & Evaluations:

Every season is a challenge when we want to create rosters in the fall for a spring sport. We understand monetary commitments are made to football, soccer, hockey, and other school outlets as well.

We truly need each of you to make an effort to register your child in the fall to play this season. We will make every accommodation necessary for any family that would like to register but pay sometime in the spring.

The challenge is creating balanced teams, ordering uniforms, contacting sponsors, and pushing through permits for the fields. Most importantly - to make up winter workout schedules as your registration price includes five winter indoor workouts and without knowing how many teams - we can not move forward.

As of today - we would not have more than six teams in one division. Last season we had 15 or more teams across three divisions. Huge difference.

Last year was a major success with over 225 players registered, We have listened to the concerned parents and coaches about the make up of the league and would like to change the way we craft the teams (12 man rosters vs. 9-10 man rosters) but need everyone to at least register and commit to the 2020 season.

With that - we are postponing this weekend´s evaluations in the hopes of generating more registrations. The tryouts will now be held Saturday and Sunday, October 19-20 at Forges Field.

Saturday, October 19:
13s - 10am - 12pm
14s - 11:30am - 1pm
15s-16s - 1pm-3pm

Sunday, October 20 (make-up; rain date; etc):
13s - 10am - 11:30am
14-16s - 11:30am - 1:30pm

Please note - with the league changing formats - every registered player is required to come to the evaluations regardless if you played in the league in prior seasons.

If you can not attend either day for evaluations, please reach out directly to the Vice President of Baseball - Brian Fabry at  . We can not guarantee another evaluation date due to weather, etc but again, if we have the commitment to play - we will certainly do our best.

AAU Evaluations:

AAU evaluations will be held at the same time and dates listed above. Currently we have a 13U and a 14U team in place. If there is more interest - we would be thrilled to enter a 15U team but would need a coaching staff interested in making the major commitment for winter workouts, 10-12 game season (doubleheaders) and adjusting to adhere to the town league schedules. Please contact Mark Nardone at   if you are interested in coaching the 15s.

Each team will consist of 12-15 players depending on interest. We could very well have two teams at any age level if there are more than 20 players interested. Most programs can cost in excess of $1800 per player. For Plymouth Babe Ruth, we are capping the cost at $395 PP and $600 for two players in one family.

For the most part - all games are scheduled on Sundays to avoid the conflict with town league games. This is not always the case as some teams are only able to play on Saturdays. This is treated as a developmental league/team for players interested in more competitive baseball while honing their skills.

If you are player(s) are interested in being evaluated for the AAU team - make note of it at the registration table (Cherie Green will be running registration) during evaluations. This will be the only evaluation period for the AAU teams as well. Again - please contact Mark Nardone with any questions or concerns on our AAU offerings.

Pass the word along to your friends and families. Looking forward to revamping the league and incorporating all of the input we have received the past six months and at the annual meeting.
